Have you listened to it yet? Well buy it here —–> https://empire.lnk.to/CrookCounty I like it. I have a Chicago bias but any fan of rap knows that Twista is not just some fast rapper (Guinness acknowledged him in 1992 as the Fastest Rapper Alive at a rate of 11.2 syllables a second), he is a living lyrical legend. He’s also not afraid to share a record with Chicago talent making sure to always represent for the city. #salute
Scottymusic aka B. Scott (no relation) and Bandman Kevo are two notables on Twista’s new album. Oh …and Black Youngsta is also featured.
I’m not really impressed with the same ol braggadocio rap track tht features Bandman. It doesn’t even rhyme (it’s barely ABCA)
“I got a new rari/you got a low low, you got apartment/I got a condo”
I’d be more impressed if he said “my whip’s imported/ your whip’s in forfeit/ I am your landlord you pay off my mortgage” (AABA) Now THAT’S an economical and lyrical burn. More fiyah!
Apparently he’s locked up but I don’t join #Free movements without the facts, but the bail system favors the rich and he should put the condo up for his freedom.
The Human Rights Watch issued a report titled “The Price of Freedom”, which makes a convincing case that poverty, rather than the offense committed, dictates a defendant’s fate. Here is one of the nuggets it contains:
“Among defendants arrested in 2008 on non-felony charges and given bail of $1,000 or less, only 13% of defendants were able to post bail at arraignment.” In other words, 87% of these defendants go to jail. source
